Prizes won by Galgotians at British High Commission’s ‘Great Debate’

The students of Galgotias University participated in the 'Great Debate' sorted out by the British High Commission and won prizes in the competition. The University is glad for its students for their energy to exceed expectations in every single field. Hannah Cockburn, Head, Political and Bilateral Affairs, British High Commission introduced the event.

The students from BA JMC department of Galgotias University took part in All India Inter-university debating competition held at the Sri Venkateshwara College, Delhi University in New Delhi. Various topics ranging from global energy security to compulsory voting rights were taken up in the rounds of debates.

GREAT Debate has a unique approach that provides an informal but highly rigorous debate experience for all involved. It should be stressed that the British High Commission did not issue judges with narrow criteria for arriving at a decision, but instead asked them to simply decide which side of the debate, for or against, made the most convincing argument.

World mainframe tech giant IBM partners Galgotias University's CS programs in the domains of Cloud Computing & Virtualization, Open Source Software & Open Standards, Business Analytics, and Telecom Informatics & Mainframe Technology. IBM has set up labs at Galgotias University and has co-created syllabi and pedagogies in addition to contributing to teaching processes and faculty training. Galgotias University's GEEE 2015 engineering entrance exam faces overwhelming number of applicants

When the results were out for Galgotias University's all-India GEEE 2015 engineering entrance exam, not only the students were happy but also the University and staff . The reason behind this happiness and excitement is the overwhelming and gigantic crowd of applications for admission in engineering programs. The number of applicants has increased several folds as against the applicants in previous years. And there are many more applications still coming through online counseling.

The reason for these huge numbers of applicants is the record-breaking 90%+ placements this year, with 98% figures for our CS-IBM programs. Adding to this, the students of Galgotias University have emerged toppers on the GATE 2015 & IES 2015 honors rolls. Mr. Suneel Galgotia had grabbed the nascent computer boom and used the then emerging technology to progressively leap forward the business first with Indian authors and later with foreign authors and publishers. In a short span, Galgotias had become a the leading publisher of computer and technology related books in India. In the 1990s, he set up a one-of-a-kind, stop-book shop for the finest technical and computer books, magazines and other related products in Noida. The venture went national very rapidly. From thereon , a venture into education was a natural progression and he began Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) in 2000 with just 40 students. Today GCET has over 4500 students. Galgotias Educational Institutions has moved on to include Galgotias Institute of Management and Technology (GIMT), Galgotias Business School (GBS) and The Galgotias University (GU).
